GOOD NEWS! UPDATE:
June 26, 2018 - We are happy to announce that we have reached tentative agreement with Dominion, which will save 150 jobs from being contracted out.

Threats of Lay-offs and Contracting Out
On May 10, 2018 Dominion Diamonds met with the UNW and threatened to layoff 150 unionized workers, mostly entry level, by October 1, 2018.
Following our meetings with members during the weeks of May 22-June 1, the UNW sent the following letter to Mr Wally Schumann, the Minister of Industry, Tourism & Investment, and Mr Bob McLeod, the premier and Minister of Executive and Indigenous Affairs:
June 26, 2018 - Mr. McLeod reply letter. No big surprises here - no help from the government.
