Members have questions.
We know this is a scary time for everyone. We hope very much that we will be able to reach a deal with the GNWT Feb 8-9 during mediation, and NTPC Feb 12-13 during mediation. Or that the government will come to its senses and agree to binding arbitration. Your bargaining teams are devoted to working towards a deal in mediation regardless.
CONTACTING YOU
The UNW has set up a network of strike captains, who will be contacting members in the event that there is a strike, with information about where and when and who your contacts are. Please send us your PERSONAL email address and CELL NUMBER (if applicable), if you have not done so already. mem@unw.ca or hq@unw.ca
Watch on your emails and this website this weekend! Check your spam and junk folders, as well as filtered inbox.
Members in good standing can also join our closed Facebook Group.
STRIKE PARTICIPATION PAY
To receive strike participation pay, you must be a "member in good standing". This means that you are an active employee and a member of the UNW (ie not excluded), AND that you have completed your membership application card. If you are not sure, please contact the UNW office or your Local President to confirm your membershp status.
Strike participation pay is $117/day (tax free) for a minimum of 4 hours strike participation.
