Your bargaining team met with the City on Jan 9 to 11 to exchange proposals. We highlighted the City’s recruitment and retention challenges and the importance of better work-life balance and increased flexibility to our members. We told the City that it needs to improve its overall compensation package to be competitive.
After the initial exchange we discussed non-monetary issues and are happy to say we have made some progress in key areas.
As you may know our Municipal Enforcement Division Officers fall under a different collective agreement. They are scheduled to start bargaining next week.
Our next bargaining dates are March 26-28.
